I wanted this one - and its counterparts - to be the first of the images to be re-uploaded to dA.

Done in pencil using multiple layers of the same image to create the background. Topped up with a softened glow and bluer tinge to finalize.

I think it's dreary mostly because blue is a very cold colour and so it promotes a sense of sadness and downness, kinda like rain in a way, you know? I tried to make him as happy looking as possible ^.^
